This is exactly why I'm proud to drive an old car and live in a small house in the country. I'm laughing at all the people who spend every cent they have to drive a nice car or live in a big house that is expensive to upkeep. They are stressing paycheck to paycheck about how they are going to make ends meet, while we have more than enough on only one income.
Ive often noticed how much happier the tribes of people who live in far off jungles and mountains etc seem when you see them on televised documentaries. Material possessions bring little in the way of true worth to a persons life. And the more we have in our "civilized" society, the more we want. Constantly kidding ourselves that a big TV, flashy car, the right trainers and clothes etc is a sign of our stature in the world..... Bollox!
